Multicast to Provide Hosted Transcoding Solution for Adobe Flash Media Encoding Server Software
New Service Enables Companies of All Sizes to Deliver Rich Multimedia Content

ATLANTA—September 25, 2008—Multicast, the market-leading Internet Video Platform company, today announced that it will provide a hosted Transcoding-as-a-Service (TaaS) solution for the newly released Adobe® Flash® Media Encoding Server software. The TaaS solution is a decoupled component of Multicast's best-of-class Internet Video Platform, Vidego™.

A key component of delivering high-quality streaming media is how well the audio and/or video is encoded. Multicast's TaaS solution allows companies who lack the personnel or financial resources to deploy a premise-based server the ability to encode content and communicate their message more quickly.

"We are pleased to be part of Adobe's Flash Media Encoding Server software efforts and to help ensure all customers are able to access professional-level transcoding solutions," said Lou Schwartz, CEO of Multicast Media Technologies, Inc. "Our hosted TaaS solution is powerful and reliable and allows for quick transcoding of most media formats. We believe that through our TaaS technology, more businesses will be able to deliver rich multimedia content over the Internet."

In conjunction with Adobe's Flash Media Encoding Server software, Multicast's TaaS solution offers customers a customizable framework that enables companies to transform media content into a wide variety of formats, such as Microsoft Windows® Media, MPEG-4, DivX, H.264, and others, to FLV or F4V. Once transcoded, small- to medium- sized businesses, nonprofit organizations and Fortune 500 companies are able to deliver multimedia content across a variety of devices including web, mobile and kiosk.

"Multicast's hosted Transcoding-as-a-Service solution provides customers with flexible options to take advantage of Adobe's Flash Media Encoding Server to encode content for delivering high-quality streaming media experiences to their audiences," said Laurel Reitman, senior product manager for Flash Media Solutions at Adobe.
